The dome was lifted in place just as the summer months ended and I was pleased to “seal-up” the work for the autumn whilst I had my operation.
Luckily my wife kept up the progress - here she is painting the inside matt black.
Dominic was pretty good nailing down the tongue and groove floor boards
The dome was fitted with lateral guide wheels which run on the inside of the skirt, keeping the whole thing centred.
The shutter also gained some small casters which run directly on the dome skin, allowing it to be raised using thick cord running round pulleys
Here is the door and step being completed. The lower triangular floor section was cast in concrete and now has a tough carpet covering providing something to wipe muddy feet on!
